FEATURE STORIES: The parameters for feature stories are pretty loose. It can be a feature interview with a major national performer, a story about the ramifications of multimedia in the world of live performance or a look at the future of comedy and how it's set in the history of comedy, an overview of alt venues in a particular city and the people that make them work (or don't), etc. etc. etc. Feature stories should be 750-1500 words, as a rough estimate on how long the pieces should run. There is obviously room for negotiation. Graphics/photos to accompany the piece are encouraged.
We're hoping to publish long-form literary nonfiction pieces, to not only showcase the subject, but to showcase the writer/writing. We're treating this publication as an all-inclusive art piece.
OTHER CONTENT: In addition to the feature stories, we welcome any content in any form that is funny and/or about comedy, and is artistic in both venture and style. Illustrations, photographs/photo essays, humor essays, editorial columns, goofy gimmicky media charts and graphs, etc. etc. etc. Humor essays should be around 500 words, and include a high resolution photo of the author, as well as a short bio of the author.
Photographers: 1875 by 2625 pixels at a minimum of 300 dots per inch resolution for each image. For best results, images should be specified in RGB space with an embedded ICC profile. However, if the images have already been converted to CMYK space, they should print just fine as well.
All contributed content should be original, created for RE:COM, except as requested by the editors. Rights of publication and authorship return to the creators 60 days after publication in RE:COM.
